Ironworkers Local 404 is offering the opportunity to enter into a career in Construction. The Joint Apprentice and Training Committee of Harrisburg and Vicinity will be accepting applications for the Ironworker Apprenticeship Program at the Ironworker Local Union No. 404 headquarters at 981 North Peiffers Lane in Harrisburg, PA 17109 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on February 21 and February 28 and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on February 22 and 27. Interested persons are invited to execute applications at the times and location listed or by appointment. Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Pa Drivers License
- High School Transcripts or GED Equivalent
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Pass an aptitude test
- Have a doctor's certificate certifying physical fitness
If accepted, the applicant must submit to a drug test.

REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
Applicants must present a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Applicants must present a copy of his/her transcripts
Applicants are required to have a valid driver’s license
A $10 Application fee
Applicants must pass a drug test
A $10 Test fee will be collected at time of test
Three (3) letters of recommendation
The length of the apprenticeship is 8000 working hours with increases for every 1000 working hours. Enclosed is a rate sheet with the rates for your area. If accepted to the program a drug test with a negative result is required. There is a $100.00 registration fee due at time of acceptance. Monthly union dues are payable at your Union meetings held in your local area. There are also, weekly dues check off, that are automatically deducted from your paycheck. Apprenticeship classes are conducted at the Training Center in Harrisburg, PA and the class year runs from Labor Day in September to Memorial Day in may. Classes are mandatory and are during the day from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on a bi-weekly basis. You will not be compensated while attending class. The cost of the schooling is free, however you must sign the Apprentice Tuition Advance and Restitution Agreement, a legal document that ensures that you will remain a union member during your apprenticeship and when you become a journeyperson.
